Presenting a Model for Succession Management of Organizational Knowledge Workers in the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran ( Case study: Hormozgan province Port and Maritime Authority)

Background and Theoretical Foundations: This study aims to provide a model for succession management of organizational knowledge workers in the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
Methodology: The research method is fundamental in terms of purpose and has been done by the experimental process. The data collection method is mixed, and the data collection tool is an interview and a questionnaire. Three hundred six organizational knowledge workers and staff (in the quantitative section) and 17 experts and specialists in the field (in the qualitative section) collaborated. Descriptive and inferential methods analyzed the collected data through SPSS 16 and Smart PLS software.
Findings: The results showed that the succession management model of Organizational Knowledge Workers in the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran has three dimensions and seven components: general dimensions, policy setting and evaluation of succession management system as the main dimensions and organizational factors, individual factors, process factors, commitment of senior managers to the succession management system, identification of critical positions, process. The result was as components of the successful management of Organizational Knowledge Workers in Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization.
Conclusion: Model fit tests showed the validity of the model.
