Abstract:   (20 Views)
Background and Objectives: Background and Objectives: Considering the position of the industrial sector of most Iranian cities in the historical memory of the society of these regions, the formulation of appropriate urban policies can strengthen the public sense of the people and enhance their historical identity. The extent of industrial neighborhoods covers a large part of the area of old industrial cities in Iran. It is an example of the experiences of revitalization and restoration of buildings with industrial use, both in Western countries and inside Iran.
.Methods: With the help of examining case studies of foreign industrial heritage and specific domestic examples in coastal areas such as the Port of Kong Shipbuilding Museum and the Bushehr Maritime Museum and the Port of Sharafkhaneh Maritime Museum of Lake Urmia, in this study, the experiences of revitalization and restoration of buildings with industrial use were examined.
Findings: The architectural value of these textures, a monument of industrialization and a legacy of 20th century architecture, in conjunction with the social, historical values, and belonging of the urban community and a sense of identity, has made them a potential historical potential in the urban landscape, and their preservation can be effective in developing urban tourism and coastal areas and creating jobs and sustainable income for cities.
Conclusion: Some industries, due to their specific characteristics, while being or having been engaged in production activities, also have the ability to become a living industrial museum. Also, in active industries that attempt to establish museums, by developing a suitable scenario and defining a safe visit route, it is possible to provide the possibility of visiting and, as a result, familiarizing the audience with the product production process in an objective manner, which will increase the thematic attractiveness and the impact of the educational functions of these museums.
