The objective of this research is to identify and prioritise effective factors in creating dry ports in Iran. Today, containeraisation has been the cause of many serious issues and challenges at seaports. To confront these challenges, the concept of dry port has been introduced which requires further contemplation for its development and creation to maintain and increase the usage of containerisation. The research has been carried out by applying a descriptive survey method and used the AHP technique to analyze and assess the findings. Questionnaires were used as the main instrument for data collection and  measurement of variables in this research. The results showed that with the prioritisation of the criteria, paired comparisons and the calculation of the relative weight of each criterion, the most important factors can easily be selected and implemented.
